Holiday schedule
In observance of the holidays and appreciation for AAA Colorado staff, AAA Colorado retail stores will be closed on Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving), Dec. 25, 2017 (Christmas), and Jan. 1, 2018 (New Year’s Day).
Safe holiday shopping
With the holidays fast approaching, more and more people are finding shopping online easier and more convenient. But this can also open the door to hackers and cyber thieves who want to steal your identity. Here are four ways to say safe before clicking “Buy Now.”
Check the website’s security. Make sure that the site you’re using has an “s” in the URL (“https:”) to signify that it is encrypted before entering your credit card details.
Make sure it asks for your CVV. This is the 3 or 4-digit code on the back of your credit card, which verifies that user has the card in front of them. Asking for this number can thwart thieves from using stolen card numbers.
Use credit instead of debit. Most credit card companies, including the AAA Member Rewards VISA, offer a form of fraud protection and often won’t hold you responsible for money spent with a stolen card.
